Darkness to Light

Lead us from Darkness to Light!

The Mantra of Enlightenment
The “mantra” that resounds in the minds of every Indian is one that dispels the darkness of ignorance. It serves as a guiding force, illuminating the path of wisdom and enlightenment.
The Book and Pen – Symbols of Knowledge
The book and the pen beside the flame represent enlightenment and wisdom. They remind us that books are our best friends, holding the treasures of knowledge, and that the pursuit of learning continues until the end of life.
The Diya – Symbol of Awakening
The sunrise within the ‘Diya’ represents universal awakening and the newness of life. Each day brings fresh hope, new opportunities, and renewed energy to climb the ladder of success.
The Bat and Ball – A Reminder of Physical Well-being
The bats and the ball on the other side of the flame highlight the importance of physical activity. As human beings, we are both mind and body, and maintaining physical fitness is essential because a healthy mind resides in a healthy body.
The Cross – A Call to Love and Sacrifice
The cross signifies the sacrificial service that Jesus taught through His life and death. The two beams, vertical and horizontal, remind us to love both God and our fellow human beings. As Christ said, “There is no greater love that a man can have than to lay down his own life for his friends.”
The Shield of Protection
All these elements together form a shield that protects a person from ignorance, darkness, and evil. Let the sun shine, let the flame of love burn bright, and let the light of knowledge dispel all darkness.
Tagore’s Vision of Love
Rabindranath Tagore longed to carry God’s love within him. In Gitanjali, he writes, “Let me carry thy love in my life, as a harp does its music and give it back at last with my life.” His words inspire us to live a life filled with love and selflessness.
